Louis grew up in mid-Cornwall and trained as a solicitor in Truro.  On qualification he joined the prestigious national firm Burges Salmon LLP, where he spent three successful years before joining Parnalls.

Louis’ career path and experiences have lead him to being able to turn his mind to the full spectrum of real estate matters. He has successfully represented our clients across a broad range of sectors including  agriculture, renewables, commercial and residential property transactions and development.

He has, for as long as he can remember, been interested in property law in all its varied forms, whether in relation to land or bricks and mortar.  He enjoys applying this knowledge and experience in a range of sectors.

Louis co-founded the peer to peer lending company Folk2Folk in early 2013, which has since gone on to become a leading national rural lender.

Louis is passionate about rural affairs and accordingly is a member of the CLA, Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, Countryside Alliance and Agricultural Law Association.



Past experiences include:-

  • Acting for a series of landowners and farmers in various rural/agricultural land transactions such as farm acquisitions, option agreements, conditional contracts and land swaps
  • Acting in the sale and purchase of various businesses including hotels, pubs, restaurants, shops, caravan and camping parks and nursing homes
  • Acting in a series of complex renewable energy projects, including private wire agreements and solar and wind turbine development projects
  • Advising Developers in relation to residential and commercial development, including negotiating complex S106 agreements and other infrastructure agreements

Louis has two children and lives in the heart of Cornwall enjoying the quiet life (when he can).
