A new service has just been launched by the Land Registry to protect property fraud in relation to properties not occupied by their owners. The Land Registry can enter a restriction requiring a conveyancer to confirm identity of the owner before an application is processed by the Land Registry. Service is offered for a limited time only and we are advising our clients to carefully consider taking the necessary steps.
