About Us
For more information on what we do please click the links on the left. For more information about our staff and their areas of expertise click on here The Team. Our firm was established in the late 1700s and has been owned and run by the Parnall family for three generations, assisted by 35 staff.
Whether you have been born and raised in Cornwall or have moved into the area, we believe that the service and depth of our local knowledge is crucial in adding value to our service to you.
We provide broad and sensible advice, whether dealing with personal, private or business problems. Our forte is to combine good commercial acumen, local knowledge and old fashioned values, using the latest technology and at rates more competitive than the larger city based provincial firms.
We believe it is important that Clients centre their affairs on one firm. Some people choose very small firms with perhaps one Solicitor and others choose large firms. We think the size of our firm is just right for most Private Client requirements. The Partners take a deep personal interest in all that goes on here and we are of the size that enables that to happen.
Our strengths include:
- Meeting urgent deadlines.
- Our email, phone, mobile communication and computerised case management system which are the best that money can buy.
- That all your papers, files, Deeds, Wills and other precious documents are stored free of charge in our Strong Room.
- Our phones being answered personally.
- Each Lawyer having an Assistant to back them up.
- Seamless cover when the person in the firm dealing with your matter goes on holiday or is ill.
- Knowing our local "scene" as good as anyone can.
The service has to be elastic and tailored to meet the needs of the individual. As soon as one creates a cost constraint then we believe the Client has raised expectations of what can be done for that sum, and we have problems to deliver the expectation if there is no prospect of being paid for it. Anyone that says any different is using a volume approach, similar to the percentages that Estate Agents use where legal costs are being averaged across all Clients regardless of their needs or demands. We think that is wrong.
