Deborah, director in our Private Client Department, is our longest-standing member of the firm, having joined Parnalls in 1989. She deals with Probate Administration, Wills and Financial Administration for elderly clients.

Deborah has over 30 years’ experience in Private Client law and has been a probate executive since 1997. Deborah holds a BTEC National Diploma in Business Studies and Finance, and her experience in accounting and interest in the world of facts and figures continues to inform her approach to her work administering estates today.

Beginning as an assistant to Ann Cory, Deborah began running her own case files in 1996-7, working closely with John Parnall until his retirement and subsequently, Jonathan Parnall. Progressing to Head of Department in 2005, Deborah then assumed directorship in June 2010. Deborah now manages the concerns of the Private Client department as well as administering estates from the small to the multi-million-pound, navigating complex IHT issues with meticulous attention to detail, including making claims for Agricultural or Business Property Relief. Deborah also deals with issues faced by elderly clients such as LPA administration and will drafting.

Deborah brings understanding and empathy to all that she does and makes use of her personal experiences to aid clients through crucial and difficult times. Having been to school in Launceston, Deborah prides herself not only on a kind demeanour and thorough approach to law, but a deep and wide-ranging knowledge of the local area.  Outside of work, Deborah has been a Church Warden for 15 years and sings regularly in the choir.
